Ohio State Head Coach Tom Ryan returned to his old school on Sunday, 1/25, as the Buckeyes of Ohio State took on Hofsta in Long Island, NY. Ohio State found themselves in quite the struggle early on, but stormed in the late matches to a 19-13 victory in front of more than 2,100 fans to improve thier record to 9-1 on the season. Reece Humphrey had a big win over #9 Lou Riggirello to improve to 19-0 on the season. Reece's match with Lou is shown above, and if you go to the 8:10 mark of the video you will see Reece hit one of the most beautiful throws in wrestling. Other wins came from #12 J. Jaggers, #17 Corey Morrison, #2 Mike Pucillo, #4 Colt Sponseller and #4 Lance Palmer.
The Buckeyes return to action next weekend when they take on #21 Indiana University Friday at 7pm at St. John's Arena. The first 1,000 fans will receive a free rally towel courtesy of Nationwide Arena. Sunday at 11a.m. the Buckeyes will host the Minnesota Golden Gophers at St. John's Arena. All fans are encouraged to wear white in an attempt to "white out" the Golden Gophers!
