133 pound junior Reece Humphrey, from Indianapolis, IN, was named themat.com wrestler of the week for the week of January 6-12. The junior received the honor for his 5-0 performance at the NWCA National Duals and helping the Buckeyes to a fifth place finish. Humphrey was named the Division 1 outstanding wrestler for the weekend because of his great performance. Humphrey had victories over All-American Mike Grey of Cornell, No. 2 Andrew Hochstrasser of Boise State and No. 4 Jayson Ness of Minnesota. He is now 18-0 on the season and ranked #2 in the country.
